Data management: scientific data and GDPR

Description

As part of this skills-based volunteering day, we would like to receive guidance on GDPR issues applicable to the Foundation, covering both our online and offline practices. The objective would be twofold: first, to conduct an awareness/training session on the main principles of GDPR and the best practices to adopt; second, to help us identify the key areas of concern in our daily activities. We would particularly like to address the following topics: collection and management of data through our online forms, newsletters, donations, and event registrations; consent and data retention (CRM); contact management (donors, partners, scientists, volunteers, and the general public); best practices related to internal files, physical events, photos/videos, and email communications. Ideally, this day would combine an educational, practical, and operational approach, with simple recommendations to implement, and potentially an initial GDPR roadmap tailored to our context as a foundation recognized as serving the public interest.
